ARRI ALEXA 35 Xtreme

The ARRI ALEXA 35 Xtreme takes everything we love about the ALEXA 35 and adds some serious speed. Built around ARRI’s 4.6K Super 35 ALEV 4 sensor, the Xtreme retains the exceptional color, highlight roll-off, and 17 stops of dynamic range of the original ALEXA 35 while introducing a new processing platform capable of dramatically higher frame rates.

The big one: up to 660 fps. The ALEXA 35 Xtreme can shoot up to 330 fps while retaining the sensor’s full 17 stops of dynamic range. When things need to get really slow, Sensor Overdrive pushes the camera all the way to 660 fps in its 2K and HD Super 16 modes, with 11 stops of dynamic range and a base sensitivity of EI 1600.

The Xtreme also introduces ARRICORE, ARRI’s next-generation RGB codec designed to maintain high image quality and post-production flexibility while significantly reducing data rates. Sensitivity, white balance, and tint remain adjustable in post, and ARRICORE works within the familiar ALEXA 35 workflow using Codex Compact Drives, ARRI Look Files, ARRI Textures, metadata, and MXF files.

For everything else, it’s still the ALEXA 35 we know and love: 4.6K Open Gate capture, REVEAL Color Science, internal motorized FSND filters, interchangeable lens mounts, compact Mini-style body, and a rugged production-ready design. ARRIRAW and Apple ProRes recording remain available alongside ARRICORE, making the Xtreme a seriously versatile A-camera, B-camera, or dedicated high-speed camera.
